DaVinci composite slate and shake: seven distinct profiles
DaVinci molds composite tiles to reproduce slate texture or hand-split cedar character. Its formulation includes virgin resins, UV and thermal stabilizers, and fire-retardant ingredients.

Color, blend and coursing change the result
Slate Gray, Slate Black, European and Brownstone are among the slate choices shown in the brochure. Shake options include Tahoe, Weathered Gray, Black Oak and Aged Cedar. Availability varies by profile. DaVinci’s color variation and the selected straight or staggered layout create the roof’s overall pattern, so view an assembled sample alongside the home’s finishes.
Selected colors have Cool Roof options. That designation applies to the specified color and product; it does not apply to every DaVinci roof or guarantee a particular energy-bill reduction.
Plan roof weight, accessories and testing together
The brochure lists different weights for each profile and exposure. Confirm the selected assembly’s load with the supporting structure. DaVinci also provides hip and ridge tiles, rake pieces and turret components to coordinate more complex architecture.
DaVinci literature lists Class A fire and UL 2218 Class 4 impact classifications, with wind testing for specified configurations. Verify the current product, exposure, underlayment, fastening and approval. Testing is not a damage-free guarantee. Residential and commercial warranty eligibility differ; obtain the current written material warranty.

How does Multi-Width differ from Single-Width?
Multi-Width combines several tile widths to vary the pattern. Single-Width uses a consistent width, while texture, color blend and allowable coursing still influence the appearance. Select Shake is a separate two-width option.
Can composite slate or shake work on a historic property?
It can be an option to present for review, but the property’s preservation requirements govern acceptance. Submit the exact profile, sample blend, visible edge details and mockup to the responsible review body before ordering.
